Vallis Alps

Though the pair originally lived thousands of miles apart -- Tosif was from Canberra, Australia and Ansari from Seattle in the U.S. -- they met in Israel during their gap year in 2010. After Ansari heard Tosif sing at a friend's house, they struck up a friendship and collaborated on music over the Internet and in person for several years. Vallis Alps released their self-titled debut EP in January 2015, and the single "Young" became a hit, ultimately placing at number 27 on that year's Triple J Hottest 100. Late that year, the duo moved to Sydney, and earned a J Award nomination for Unearthed Artist of the Year. A pair of singles, 2016's "Fading" and 2017's "East," heralded the release of Vallis Alps' sophomore EP, Fable, in March 2017.
