Jay Will

Pop singer/songwriter Will Jay Behlendorf was born in Los Angeles to a German father and Chinese mother. He learned to play piano at a young age and grew up with his sights set on the stage. In addition to small roles on Wizards of Waverly Place, Eli Stone, and The Closer, he joined boy band IM5 in 2012. Created by Simon Fuller (Spice Girls, American Idol), the quintet released a handful of hip-hop-inspired dance singles that received support from Radio Disney. However, after two years with the group, Behlendorf parted ways with IM5 in December 2014 to pursue a solo career. One of his first big solo feats came on China's version of the television singing competition The Voice. During the fourth season of the show, Behlendorf auditioned with his ukulele rendition of Fool's Garden's "Lemon Tree." Once he started singing in Mandarin, all four judges -- including Mando-pop superstars Harlem and Jay Chou -- turned their chairs. Despite a performance of Bruno Mars' "Just the Way You Are" (also in Mandarin), he was eventually eliminated in the knockout round. Returning to the United States, he released two singles, "Anti-Social Media" and "Version of Love." In 2016, he issued his debut self-titled EP, which included his Motown-inspired single "Gentleman."
