This album offers a resolutely 70's rock sound with a heavy feel, mixed in with psychedelic rhythms, surging guitars, cosmic detours and strong, energetic vocals. The Sevillans of Derby Motoreta's Burrito Kachimba seized the spotlight in 2019 with their self-titled debut album and a sound they call "kinkidelia" (kinky and psychedelic). This second album, hotly-anticipated in Spain, may win them fans from beyond their native shores. Their influences include Led Zeppelin and the legendary Spanish group Triana. But Black Sabbath, Motörhead and Camarón de la Isla also loom large in their musical minds. Alongside their impeccable technical skills, the band's greatest asset is surely singer Dandy Piranha. He has assimilated the styles of the band's influences brilliantly and shows a natural flair for working with the flamenco's cante jondo, sometimes attaining duende, the state of grace for which Andalusian art is known. The track Gitana is a fine example of the interconnections between these two artistic schools.
