The exact nature of the plants used in Mr Zarko’s clinic isn’t specified, but what’s certain is that they don’t leave you breathless, quite the contrary in fact. Born in Serbia, near the Guca village, famous for hosting each summer the most over-the-top brass band festival of the world, Žarko Jovašević fell into this invigorating music as a child. In Berlin, the singer/guitarist has built a solid orchestra, composed of Turkish, Serbian, Romanian, Bulgarian and German musicians that have previously won their spurs with Shantel or Miss Platnum. Their Balkan brass music, enhanced with rock accents, sometimes disco or psychedelic, compliments, for this second album, the magic distilled by the Bojan Krstic Orkestar. This brass band from the South of Serbia was bestowed with the 2017 Best Orchestra Award, during the Guca Brass Band Festival annual competition. It’s a trophy that joined the shelf alongside a golden trumpet awarded in 2015 to its conductor. The brass instruments are shining and the fever reaches new heights. The proposed treatment will obliterate any trace of fatigue or moroseness, and it seems there’s no counter-effect if ingested alone. © BM/Qobuz
