Le maître du oud tunisien Anouar Brahem est un musicien moderne qui reste très attaché à la tradition, faisant toujours référence à la musique arabe tout en prenant en compte le monde changeant qui l'entoure : il collabore avec des artistes de sa région, mais aussi avec des occidentaux, et même avec un orchestre à cordes sur son album Souvenance (inspiré par le Printemps Arabe et ses conséquences). Pour son nouvel album Blue Maqams qui paraît en 2017, ce sont les terres jazz qu'il part explorer, accompagné des talentueux Dave Holland, Jack DeJohnette et Django Bates.
Der tunesische Meister der Oud, Anouar Brahem, ist ein moderner Musiker, der der Tradition stets verbunden bleibt, indem er eine Verbindung zwischen arabischer Musik und der Welt schafft, die ihn umgibt: Seine Kollaborationen bestehen zwischen Künstlern seiner Region, jedoch auch aus der westlichen Welt und sogar einem Streichorchester, wie etwa für sein Album "Souvenance" (das vom Arabischen Frühling und seinen Folgen inspiriert wurde).
