Oscar Lang

Citing influences like Mac DeMarco, John Lennon, and Kevin Parker, London's Oscar Lang plays an eclectic bedroom pop mix that ranges in tone from murky, lo-fi introspections to playful, chiptune-aided bangers and psychedelic romps. After earning an online following during his teenage years, he signed with Dirty Hit Records and racked up streams with tracks like "She Likes Another Boy" and "The Moon Song," which he recorded with labelmate Beabadoobee. After numerous singles and EPs, Lang released his critically acclaimed debut full-length, Chew the Scenery, in 2021. He followed it with several more singles including 2023's "A Song About Me." A multi-instrumentalist who began writing music at age 11, Lang started releasing his songs in 2016. While still in high school, he put out projects like Teenage Hurt and Silk under the name Pig, earning a fan base for his experimental pop and adolescent chronicles of boredom and loneliness. His 2017 cover of Karen O's "The Moon Song" with fellow bedroom pop up-and-comer Beabadoobee became a viral hit, notching millions of streams, and by 2019, both artists were signed to London's influential Dirty Hit label. Lang's first project for Dirty Hit (now using his given name) was the Bops, Etc. EP, followed by a label package tour of the U.K. with Beabadoobee and No Rome. The more psychedelic Hand Over Your Head EP appeared in 2020 showcasing a more dynamic, full-band sound. Finally, in 2021, Lang delivered his first full-length release, Chew the Scenery. A critical success, the album displayed Lang's tonal range, and a deluxe version was issued the following year while he worked on his follow-up. Throughout 2023, a succession of singles like "Everything Unspoken" and "A Song About Me" preceded his second album, Look Now.
