Available languages: EnglishBorn in Chengdu, Chinese violinist Ning Feng attended the Sichuan Conservatory of Music, where he studied with Antje Weithaas, and later worked with Hu Kun at the Royal Academy of Music in London. He was the second-prize winner of the Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition in 2000, the first-prize winner at the International Paganini Violin Competition in 2006, and the winner of prizes at the Joseph Joachim International Violin Competition in Hannover, the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels, and the Michael Hill International Violin Competition in Auckland. He has performed as a soloist with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the Berlin Konzerthaus Orchestra, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Budapest Festival Orchestra, the Russian State Symphony Orchestra, L'Orchestre National de Lyon, the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, among other orchestras. As a chamber musician, Feng founded the Dragon Quartet in 2012, and he has performed Schubert's piano trios with Igor Levit and Daniel Müller-Schott at the Schubertiade Schwarzenberg and with Nicholas Angelich and Edgar Moreau in Lucerne. Feng teaches violin at the Lübeck Academy of Music and Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin. He records for Channel Classics. ~ Blair Sanderson
