Eddy de Pretto

With a style that bridges the gap between urban music and French chanson, Eddy de Pretto (May 2, 1993) is a French singer-songwriter and actor from Créteil in Val-de-Marne. He took acting and singing lessons at the age of 12 and then relocated to Paris to study at the Advanced Institute of Dramatic Arts. Following a series of appearances on TV commercials, Eddy de Pretto made his acting debut in the short films Königsberg (2012) and Vivre sa vie (2013) before deciding to pursue a career in music. In 2016, he performed at the Printemps de Bourges festival and won the Inouïs prize. His debut EP, Kid, arrived in October 2017 and was followed by an appearance on the TV show Taratata, where he sang Serge Gainsbourg’s “Comme un boomerang” with Julien Doré, and a nomination for Best Newcomer Stage Act at the 33rd Victoires de la Musique Awards in 2018. That same year, Eddy de Pretto unveiled his studio album, Cure, which was praised by critics for its vocal criticism of homophobia and sexual stereotypes. The LP also peaked at Number 2 on the French Albums Chart and spawned the singles “Random” and “Normal.” Preceded by the singles “Bateaux-mouches” and “Désolé Caroline,” his second album À Tous les Bâtards arrived in 2021.
