Released in 1992, The Very Best of Supertramp, Vol. 2 rounds up the best of the material left off their 1990 first installment. As their biggest hits such as "The Logical Song," "It's Raining Again," and "Give a Little Bit" were featured on their previous release, this second collection is made up of their less-familiar work. Only five singles are included, "Don't Leave Me Now," "Babaji," "Lady," "Free as a Bird," and "My Kind of Lady," none of which made any impact in the U.K. or U.S.. While the other nine tracks are taken from their most popular albums, Crime of the Century, Crisis? What Crisis, Even in the Quietest Moments, and Breakfast in America.

Supertramp: 40 Years of Breakfast in America

Forty years ago, the English group Supertramp invaded the United States with “Breakfast in America”. The album marked both the highpoint and the beginning of the end for the group. Throughout the band’s existence, the working relationship between the cynical baritone Rick Davies and the spiritual tenor Roger Hodgson was contentious. And yet, these two opposing musicians still managed to write a classic in the history of pop.

And then Nirvana Killed Rock

Thirty-four years ago, Nirvana was born: the most unexpected punk swerve of the end of the 20th century. A rocketing career, international hits, hordes of fans and a tragic epilogue for this worldwide phenomenon. And what if Kurt Cobain’s band was none other than the last band in the history of rock? The ultimate generational phenomenon of genre, if not its last myth.

Shooting Big Star

It took a short legacy of only two years and three albums for Big Star to enter the rock 'n' roll pantheon. Unsuccessful in the beginning of the 70’s, Alex Chilton and Chris Bell’s band is now acclaimed as one of the most influential of its kind.
