With Someone Out There, Rae Morris doesn’t quite overcome the burdensome influences of Björk and Kate Bush, but she manages to express her singularity more than on Unguarded, her first album released in 2015. This time, the pop sprinkled with electro of the British musician, originally from Blackpool, holds much more lyrical potential. While the sound design is completely in tunes with the times, her songs’ DNA still holds a form of classicism. And when comes the time to unleash the implacable melody of a golden hit song such as Wait For The Rain, Morris’ talent truly shines through. © CM/Qobuz
