GWSN

Comprised of members Miya (미야), Seokyoung (서경), Seoryoung (서령), Anne (앤), Minju (민주), Lena (레나), and Soso (소소), GWSN was the first girl group to be released on the Kiwi Pop label, the K-Pop subsidiary of Kiwi Company. After debuting in late 2018 with mini-album The Park in the Night, Pt. 1, the group issued Pt. 2 and Pt. 3 in 2019. They hit numbe six on the Korean charts with fourth project the Keys. The first girl group formed by Kiwi Media Group, K-Pop outfit GWSN, was announced in June 2018 with a series of member photos and videos. An abbreviation of Gongwon Sonyeo, the group's name held a double-meaning in Korean and English, representing the titular "park" (gongwon) as a place of healing while hinting at the group's international ambitions. After making their first TV appearance on MNet's reality show GOT YA! GWSN, the group debuted with mini-album The Park in the Night, Pt. 1 in September of 2018, which they performed live on TV's M Countdown the day after its release. The group's airy sonics and interlocking melodies secured them an impressive run in 2018's award season and they were nominated for "Best New Female Artist" and "Artist of the Year" at MNet's Asian Music Awards, and won the "New Artist Award" at the Seoul Success Awards. The group's first comeback came with club-inspired single "Pinky Star (Run)," which landed on sophomore mini-album The Park in the Night, Pt. 2 in March of 2019. GWSN issued a third volume of The Park in the Night in July of that year, with Pt. 3 heralded by lead single "RED-SUN (021)." The group closed out the year with another strong awards season, landing four nominations (including "Top Artist") at the 2019 Genie Awards, as well as winning the "K-Pop Singer Award" at 2019's Korea Culture Entertainment Awards. In January 2020, Soso announced her hiatus from the group due to an injury. Now down to six members, the group moved to Kiwi's new label MILES before releasing the single "Bazooka." The track landed on the group's fourth mini-album, The Keys, which put GWSN at number six on the Korean charts.
