For her fourth album at Ruf Records, Samantha Fish anchored in Detroit, a melting pot of all kinds of sound, from the soul of Motown to the punk rock of Iggy Pop and his Stooges, and the lo-fi and punchy blues of the White Stripes. Chills & Fever was created in collaboration with members of the Detroit Cobras and producer Bobby Harlow (The GO/ Jack White). Sam Fish’s voice overflows with rage and soul, and commands with beautiful sincerity a very roots rock’n’roll filled with exceptional energy, as well as hints of garage and vintage soul (in fact more reminiscent of Memphis than Detroit).
