El 10 de enero de 2016, cuando David Bowie desapareció para siempre, sus fans estaban escuchando Blackstar, su vigesimoquinto álbum de estudio publicado 48 horas antes, ¡en su 69 cumpleaños! El hombre que acababa de morir de cáncer no era solamente una “leyenda del rock” como los otros. Haber atravesado las décadas y las modas de esta manera siempre le dio a Bowie el estatus de innovador único, un artista singular que logró reinventarse perpetuamente, y también cuestionarse a sí mismo... Publicado el pasado noviembre, Brilliant Adventure se centra en el periodo 1992-2001 de Bowie. En el corazón de esta copiosa caja de más de 130 temas se encontraba Toy, una obra inédita grabada en Nueva York entre julio y octubre de 2000, en el que la estrella revisaba las canciones de su debut mod en los años sesenta (cuando actuaba como Davy Jones & The Lower Third y Davie Jones & The King Bees), y las actualizaba con un sonido de esta época. Relecturas de composiciones anteriores a su fama que David Bowie concibió principalmente con Earl Slick a la guitarra, Gail Ann Dorsey al bajo, Mike Garson a los teclados y Sterling Campbell a la batería.


Además del álbum original, Toy: Box, que salió a la venta el 7 de enero de 2022, incluye dos discos adicionales del mismo material con versiones alternativas y acústicas. Los fans más acérrimos del artista, que habría cumplido 75 años al día siguiente de la publicación de esta caja, apreciarán este enésimo viaje en el tiempo de su ídolo. Presentación del Álbum

El 10 de enero de 2016, cuando David Bowie desapareció para siempre, sus fans estaban escuchando Blackstar, su vigesimoquinto álbum de estudio publicado 48 horas antes, ¡en su 69 cumpleaños! El hombre que acababa de morir de cáncer no era solamente una “leyenda del rock” como los otros. Haber atravesado las décadas y las modas de esta manera siempre le dio a Bowie el estatus de innovador único, un artista singular que logró reinventarse perpetuamente, y también cuestionarse a sí mismo... Publicado el pasado noviembre, Brilliant Adventure se centra en el periodo 1992-2001 de Bowie. En el corazón de esta copiosa caja de más de 130 temas se encontraba Toy, una obra inédita grabada en Nueva York entre julio y octubre de 2000, en el que la estrella revisaba las canciones de su debut mod en los años sesenta (cuando actuaba como Davy Jones & The Lower Third y Davie Jones & The King Bees), y las actualizaba con un sonido de esta época. Relecturas de composiciones anteriores a su fama que David Bowie concibió principalmente con Earl Slick a la guitarra, Gail Ann Dorsey al bajo, Mike Garson a los teclados y Sterling Campbell a la batería.


Además del álbum original, Toy: Box, que salió a la venta el 7 de enero de 2022, incluye dos discos adicionales del mismo material con versiones alternativas y acústicas. Los fans más acérrimos del artista, que habría cumplido 75 años al día siguiente de la publicación de esta caja, apreciarán este enésimo viaje en el tiempo de su ídolo. Ya sea glam rock, new wave, funk o soul, disco o electro, David Bowie ha abrazado todos los géneros, a veces incluso adelantándose a ellos.
