En 1990 los remixes –elemento base de la dance music– eran todavía un recurso utilizado a cuentagotas cpor los grupos de rock. Pero siempre atentos a las novedades, The Cure decidieron reelaborar algunas de sus antiguas canciones, extraídas de sus ocho álbumes en estudio editados entre 1979 y 1989. Y aunque a sus fans les decepcionó en parte el resultado, lo cierto es que ha pasado con holgura la criba del tiempo.. En Mixed Up, remasterizado ahora por Robert Smith, las versiones un tanto planas (Lullaby, demasiado cercana a la original) se codeaban con las más osadas y excitantes (Close to Me) e incluso con temas inéditos como Never Enough, que dejaba huella con su tsunami guitarrero… © Marc Zisman/Qobuz
