To commemorate the life and work of experimental filmmaker Stan Brakhage, Sonic Youth (joined here by freelance percussionist/multi-instrumentalist Tim Barnes) performed this 2003 concert at New York City's Anthology Film Archives. These three extended tracks are suitably avant-garde, with droning guitars and fluttering rhythms making up the majority of the atmosphere. Like other releases in the band's self-released SYR series, this outing is not geared towards alt-rock fans, though aficionados of edgy minimalist music and improv will likely be interested in the material.
