No es ningún secreto: los álbumes en solitario de Ringo Starr, por simpáticos que nos resulten, no han dejado gran huella en la historia del rock. La labor realizada hasta ahora no era por supuesto de un nivel lamentable, claro que no, pero no parecía con capacidad de grabarse hondamente en el recuerdo… Y sin embargo, en esta ocasión el batería de los Beatles da la impresión de haberse aplicado más a fondo de lo acostumbrado. Cocinadas a la antigua, las hermosas canciones de Give More Love tienen su punto. Más que nada porque están defendidas por una plantilla un tanto delirante que convoca, entre otros, a Paul McCartney, Steve Lukather, Joe Walsh de los Eagles, Peter Frampton, Jeff Lynne de la Electric Light Orchestra, al ex-Eurythmics Dave Stewart, Edgar Winter, Don Was, Greg Leisz y Benmont Tench. © CM/Qobuz
