1977-2017. Han pasado cuarenta años desde la irrupción de The Jam. Esta lujosa caja de cuatro discos funciona como un formidable zoom sobre el periodo inicial de este trío liderado por Paul Weller en la Inglaterra de aquel momento, zarandeada por el estallido del punk. Tan solo en ese 1977, el Modfather y sus secuaces Rick Buckler y Bruce Foxton editarían dos álbumes incandescentes, In The City y This Is The Modern World, colocando tres singles en las listas de éxitos británicas (In The City, All Around The World y The Modern World). Este 1977 reúne todo ese material en versiones remasterizadas y ampliadas con numerosos bonus, entre los cuales destacan en especial seis demos totalmente inéditas del primer disco y cinco más ya aparecidas en anteriores antologías. Un directo del 15 de septiembre de 1977, unas Peel Sessions y algunas caras B sirven para completar esta orgía sin parangón de potente rock&roll y rebosante de rhythm&blues.
