Great American Canyon Band
Great American Canyon Band is the pastoral indie folk project of musical and marital partners Paul and Kris Masson. Both natives of Baltimore, Maryland, the duo spent several years traveling the United States, staying for a time in Georgia, California, and Illinois, where their first songs began to take shape. Citing a variety of influences from Mazzy Star to Gram Parsons, their approach to indie folk has a textural nature evoking long empty roads and wide vistas. Their self-recorded, self-released debut EP arrived in 2012, earning some early praise for the band, though they were eventually called back home to Baltimore where family issues put a temporary halt to their music career. Eventually, the Massons reconvened and landed a deal with Six Degrees Records, which reissued their Crash EP in 2015 while the duo completed work on their first full-length. Great American Canyon Band's debut LP, Only You Remain, was released in spring 2016.
