Annie Hamilton

A founding member of Australian indie rock trio Little May, singer/songwriter/guitarist Annie Hamilton left the group to issue the fuzzy, pensive "Fade" in 2018. Her solo material proved to be consistently lush and melodic, evoking hints of '90s grunge and shoegaze. A self-taught guitarist from the age of 13, Hamilton studied design at art school before co-founding Little May with Liz Drummond and Hannah Field in 2012. They were playing music festivals and selling out headlining shows in Sydney by the following year, and released an eponymous EP in 2014. Later that year, Little May signed with Capitol and Australia's Dew Process, which issued For the Company, their first full-length, in October 2015. Co-produced by Aaron Dessner of band influence the National, it reached the Top 40 in Australia. In the meantime, Hamilton did graphic design for Little May and a Sydney radio station, among other industry affiliates, and began working on her own clothing line. After touring in support of For the Company, Hamilton left Little May, eventually releasing "Fade," her solo debut single, via Twig Records in 2018. The next year, she followed up with singles including the likewise lush "Kitchen."
