Un opus où Tina Turner se fait moins Rock, pour se tourner vers une inspiration nettement plus Variétés, semblant même pour certains morceaux (« Confidential ») se prendre pour Barbra Streisand.
Fort heureusement, elle n’a pas oublié sa capacité à faire rugir sa voix, et le prouve dans des titres comme le « All Kinda People » de Robert Palmer. Dans « Thief of Hearts », c’est carrément vers le Funk qu’elle semble se tourner, dynamisant de sa voix unique des accords qui auraient pu risquer la fadeur. La meilleure chanson de l’album est encore « Goldeneye », où Tina Turner retrouve toute son inspiration pour chanter les aventures de l’agent 007.
Wildest Dreams est un disque de très bonne qualité, mais il lui manque la fureur musicale qui pouvait se montrer palpable dans certains albums de Tina Turner : sans doute faut-il y voir la conséquence d’un lent glissement vers le consensuel.

Chronique
Un opus où Tina Turner se fait moins Rock, pour se tourner vers une inspiration nettement plus Variétés, semblant même pour certains morceaux (« Confidential ») se prendre pour Barbra Streisand.
Fort heureusement, elle n’a pas oublié sa capacité à faire rugir sa voix, et le prouve dans des titres comme le « All Kinda People » de Robert Palmer. Dans « Thief of Hearts », c’est carrément vers le Funk qu’elle semble se tourner, dynamisant de sa voix unique des accords qui auraient pu risquer la fadeur. La meilleure chanson de l’album est encore « Goldeneye », où Tina Turner retrouve toute son inspiration pour chanter les aventures de l’agent 007.
Wildest Dreams est un disque de très bonne qualité, mais il lui manque la fureur musicale qui pouvait se montrer palpable dans certains albums de Tina Turner : sans doute faut-il y voir la conséquence d’un lent glissement vers le consensuel.
