Compton accouche une nouvelle fois d’une petite perle… Still Brazy est seulement le deuxième album du jeune YG et il témoigne déjà d’une grande maturité et d’un talent certain. Le membre des Bloods (comme son aîné The Game), refait de Los Angeles la place forte du hip hop américain. Bien loin de la populaire trap, les productions de Terrace Martin (qui collabore aussi avec, entre autre, Kendrick Lamar) sont clairement influencées par le G-funk (Twist My Fingaz) et sonnent presque vintage. Les rimes de YG sont délivrées lentement, dans un flow qui suit les basses chaleureuses des parties instrumentales. Keenon Daequan Ray Jackson, de son prénom, impressionne tant par son goût raffiné pour le hip hop de qualité que par sa façon de le moderniser.
