Enrico Gatti

Enrico Gatti is an Italian violinist. A graduate of the Geneva Conservatory, Gatti studied with Chiara Banchini and earned his diploma in Baroque violin. Subsequently, he studied at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and worked with Sigiswald Kuijken. In 1986, he founded the Ensemble Aurora, a quartet that specializes in Baroque music. He has performed around the world and has appeared with La Petite Bande, Concerto Palatino, Hesperion XX, Les Arts Florissants, the Taverner Players, the King's Consort, and the Bach Collegium Japan, among other distinguished ensembles. He is established as a professor of Baroque violin at the Conservatory of Music in Toulouse, and has taught at the Conservatory of Geneva, the Schola Cantorum of Basel, and the Civica Scuola di Musica in Milan, as well as at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. He has recorded Baroque and early Classical music for Glossa, Tactus, Arcana, Brilliant Classics, and Harmonia Mundi.
