Voici des enregistrements réalisé lors du fameux Festival Saito Kinen, fondé en 1992 par Seiji Ozawa et dont l’orchestre résident n’est autre que le présent Orchestre Saito Kinen. Le présent Enfant et les sortilèges a été enregistré en 2014, c’est donc une conception de la très grande maturité d’Ozawa, grand ravélien depuis des décennies. En parfaite transparence et dans de chatoyantes couleurs orchestrales, il sous-tend avec grande finesse les voix de sa superbe distribution dont ne sont certes pas absents les chanteurs français : Paul Gay, Jean-Paul Fouchécourt, Marie Lenormand, qui donnent la réplique à l’enfant chanté par Isabel Leonard. En complément de programme, l’on nous offre Shéhérazade chanté par Susan Graham ainsi que Alborada del grazioso, tous deux enregistrés lors du Festival Saito Kinen cuvée 2010, et toujours sous la direction de Ozawa. © SM/Qobuz
