Le premier opus de Michael Bublé lui confère le statut d'un Harry Connick, Jr. du XXIe siècle. Sa voix de crooner rauque lui donne la prestance d'un homme plus mûr et en fait, son style pop-jazz à la Sinatra rappelle fortement le chant de Harry Connick, Jr. Par conséquent, la production s'appuie grandement sur le swing revisité de bijoux tels que "Fever" et "Come Fly with Me", mais ce n'est qu'une partie du disque. Styliste de la chanson moderne, Michael Bublé puise dans des standards contemporains également, dont la ballade jazzy de George Michael "Kissing a Ballad", la chanson mélancolique des Bee Gees "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart" et "For Once in My Life" de Stevie Wonder. Ça fait du bien d'entendre le premier album d'un jeune chanteur qui préfère appliquer simplement une voix puissante et un certain style sur des chansons de qualité plutôt que de suivre cyniquement les sentiers battus de la teen-pop.
