The Band Of Love

The Band of Love is a supergroup of British folk musicians and vocalists brought together by producer, engineer, and multi-instrumentalist Mark Tucker (Pentangle, PJ Harvey). The core lineup -- which features Devon-based Jim Causley, folk duo Phillip Henry and Hannah Martin, Yorkshire-based Alice Jones, and 2013 BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award winner Greg Russell -- came together with Tucker in 2017 to record the unlikely amalgamation of disco and folk, although both genres could trace their roots back to social and political turmoil. The group set about recording a selection of disco classics in a traditional British folk style and the resulting, Folk Fever -- which included renditions of Hot Chocolate's "I'll Put You Together Again," Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive," and Donna Summer's "I Feel Love" among others -- was released at the beginning of 2018.
