Steve Albini produziert wurden. Ab 1995 gelingt ihr mit ihrem dritten Album To Bring You My Love der Durchbruch. Diese Platte, die diesmal von Flood produziert wurde, verkörpert allein schon die vielen Facetten der in Dorset geborenen Sängerin. Es markiert ebenfalls das Ende des "Trios" von PJ Harvey mit Rob Ellis und Ian Oliver. PJ Harvey verlor nie ihren Status als Rock-Ikone, den sie auf jedem ihrer Alben bestätigt und selbst immer wieder hinterfragt, wie etwa auf Is This Desire? oder Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea sowie während ihrer zahlreichen Kollaborationen mit John Parish, mit dem sie zwei Alben aufgenommen hat, darunter Dance Hall At Louse Point, aber auch Nick Cave, Tricky, Thom Yorke, Björk... In den letzten zehn Jahren hat ihre Musik eine eher menschliche und politische Dimension angenommen. Mit Let England Shake nähert sie sich der internationalen Politik ihres Landes und gewinnt ihren ersten Mercury Prize, nachdem sie bereits dreimal für ihre früheren Werke nominiert worden war. Fünf Jahre später veröffentlichte sie The Hope Six Demolition Project, ein Album, das von ihren Reisen in den Kosovo, nach Afghanistan und Washington D.C. inspiriert war und ihr eine Grammy-Award-Nominierung einbrachte, die vierte ihrer Karriere. © Foto: Universal Music
