Lillasyster

The Swedish alt-metal band Lillasyster formed in Gothenburg in 2004. Originally named "Rallypack," the group was launched by hard rock frontman Martin Westerstrand and bassist Daniel Cordero, both of whom had previously performed together for nine years in the rap-influenced metal group LOK. Joined by Max Flövik and Ian-Paolo Lira, the new band made its studio debut with 2004's Sod Off, God! We Believe in Our Rockband, which was released under the Rallypack name. Two years later, the musicians adopted their new moniker, Lillasyster, and began working on 2007's Hjärndöd musik för en hjärndöd generation. Although the album's lead single, "Berätta det för Lina," was modestly popular in Lillasystem's homeland, the band enjoyed global recognition with its aggressive covers of modern-day pop hits, including Rihanna's "Umbrella" and Katy Perry's "Roar." Albums like 2009's Det Här Är Inte Musik Det Här Är Kärlek, 2012's 3, 2016's 4, and 2021's Svensk Jävla Metal followed, along with a handful of compilations and EPs. One month after Svensk Jävla Metal's release, Lillasyster released a non-album single, "Pretender," which climbed to Number 25 on the Swedish charts and gave the band its first Top 40 hit.
