Bruno Walter, Erinnerungen an ein Genie

Die großartigen Remastering-Versionen der Aufnahmen von Bruno Walter anzuhören, die bei Sony Classical erschienen sind, bedeutet in humanistischer Kultur zu schwelgen. Herbert von Karajan und die großen Meister der klassischen Musik

Dreißig Jahre nach seinem Tod verkörpert der Österreicher Herbert von Karajan (Salzburg 1908 - Anif 1989) noch immer die Rolle eines einzigartigen Dirigenten. An der Spitze der Berliner Philharmoniker, die er fast 35 Jahre lang (1955-1989) zur Weltmarke erhoben hat, nahm er das Herzstück seines Repertoires methodisch neu auf: Beethoven, Brahms, Bruckner, Verdi, Wagner, Strauss.....

Beethovens Fidelio - ein großes Abenteuer

Beethovens Oper Fidelio basiert auf einem Ereignis, das sich während der revolutionären Terrorherrschaft in Frankreich zugetragen hat (eine unerschrockene junge Frau versuchte, als Mann verkleidet, ihren in einem Verlies gefangenen Mann zu retten). Die Oper erlebte ein turbulentes Schicksal und wurde im Laufe der Jahre vielfach überarbeitet. Sie beweist einmal mehr das musikalische Genie des Komponisten, der hier ein Libretto vertonte, das seinen politischen Ansichten entsprach.
