Das Ganze beginnt mit dem Song No Good. Sicherlich, um dem Zuhörer Glauben zu machen, er würde im Folgenden Rock'n'Roll hören, der von den goldenen Zeiten der Gitarrenmusik inspiriert wurde. Man versteht gut, warum die Fernsehserie Vinyl dieses Stück in ihren Soundtrack eingebunden hat. So einen Rock können Kaleo besonders gut, jedoch auch die Folk Balladen sind eine Spezialität und die manchmal raue, aber oft glasklare Stimme von JJ Julius Son verführt jeden und trägt einen augenblicklich davon. Derbe Gitarren stehen dem Leadsänger zur Seite und schwere Trommeln geben A/B einen epischen Einschlag. Der Aufwand der Produktion war gewaltig und das Ergebnis kann sich sehen lassen. Man muss sagen, dass Kaleo sich mit Jacquire King (Kings Of Leon) und Mike Crossey (Arctic Monkeys) hochkarätige Unterstützung dafür gesichert haben. DemTeam ist es gelungen, die ganze Musiklandschaft des Südens der USA neu zu erfinden. Der Song Automobil und die damit verbundene Reiselust, All The Pretty Girl und der pure Folk, Vor i Vaglaskogi und sein traditioneller Gesang...Nichts wird ausgelassen und Kaleo beeindrucken mit ihrer Reife bei ihrem gerade einmal zweiten Album. Island ist dabei, zum Nährboden junger Talente zu werden und hat glänzende Zukunftsaussichten. Ohne den kleinsten Zweifel: Qobuzmäßig!
