The first volume of the Tindersticks' 1997 Bathtime single features the dramatic title track (taken from the band's 1997 album Curtains), as well as three more tracks. "Paco's Theme" is a moody instrumental that would fit perfectly on the soundtrack of a film noir classic. "Shadow" is a moody ballad that would fit perfectly on a Lee Hazlewood record. It is actually a cover of an R. Dean Taylor song from the early '70s and the band does it up right with bullfighter guitars and mariachi horns. "Manalow" is a moody instrumental led by piano and bells. This is a very moody single by a very moody band. Not one of their best singles, but still of interest.
