Dopo Coda, Jimmy Page cercò due volte di proporre delle compilation al pubblico, Early Days & Latter Days: The Very Best Of Led Zeppelin e Mothership, ma la sua battaglia era persa in partenza, perché una parte di persone non erano interessate queste compilation in quanto non contenevano i loro brani preferiti; altre non capivano che alcuni brani meno noti potevano facilmente rivaleggiare con i grandi classici. Ma tutti devono pur iniziare da qualche parte... L'ideale, o, a seconda del punto di vista, il meno peggio, è iniziare con un mix che contenga sia le hit essenziali che i brani più rari o meno conosciuti, che saranno come delle nuove scoperte, come se fossero state registrate ieri...
