The Cure

Tra tutte le band emerse nell'immediato post punk rock alla fine degli anni 70, the Cure sono stati la band più duratura e popolare. Essendo una delle band che gettò i semi del goth rock, il gruppo the Cure accumulò strati di chitarre e sintetizzatori. La band divenne famosa per i canti lenti e malinconici e l'aspetto demoniaco del chitarrista/cantante Robert Smith, ma spesso l'immagine pubblica celò la diversità della loro musica. Alla fine degli anni 80, raggiunsero il successo di massa non solo nella nativa Inghilterra, ma anche a livello internazionale.
