Supa Bwe

Rapper, singer, and producer Supa Bwe has been active in his hometown of Chicago since the early 2010s. Known to switch from mellow Auto-Tuned crooning to hyper-aggressive barking inspired by screamo, he caught on locally with the group Hurt Everybody and after numerous small-scale solo releases put together his proper debut album, Finally Dead (2017). Since then, he has released an EP, Just Thank You (2019). Hailing from Chicago's West Side, Frederick McCulloch-Burton started making music during his late teenage years but didn't take it seriously until several years later. He started recording in 2012, and from 2014 through 2016 was one-third of Hurt Everybody, a group that released a self-titled EP and a full-length project entitled 2K47. After numerous underground solo releases of varying lengths, Supa devoted roughly a year to making Finally Dead, which he views as his proper solo debut. Released toward the end of 2017, it featured the likes of Saba, Xavier Omar, and Juju. By then, Supa had appeared on dozens of tracks by the likes of Taylor Bennett and Twista, and between solo releases, he made his highest profile featured appearance yet with a contribution to Chance the Rapper's "Wala Cam." Just Say Thank You, an EP on which Chance returned the favor by appearing on "Rememory," followed in 2019.
