Lingua disponibile: ingleseBeatrice Dillon is a London-based experimental techno producer, DJ, and composer whose work is influenced by electro-acoustic music, avant-garde jazz, dub, and minimalism. She's as comfortable spinning back-to-back DJ sets with the likes of Kassem Mosse and Ben UFO as she is composing commissioned works for installations. After debuting as a DJ in late 2011, she performed concerts with Claire Hooper and Karen Gwyer in 2012. The following year, she collaborated with engineer/musician Rupert Clervaux, drummer Charles Hayward, Eben Bull, and Spring Heel Jack's John Coxon and Ashley Wales on a piece called Disarm in conjunction with artist Pedro Reyes at London's Lisson Gallery. The music to this piece was created entirely using instruments made out of decommissioned guns, and the gallery released the recording on vinyl. Dillon then completed a mix for the podcast series Blowing Up the Workshop, as well as a mix of African music titled Folkways II, released by The Trilogy Tapes. Her first solo release of original material was the 2014 cassette Blues Dances on Where to Now? The one-sided 12" Sequence 1 (in collaboration with Clervaux) was released by The Vinyl Factory shortly after. Dillon began hosting a monthly radio program on London-based online radio station NTS starting in January of 2015. She continued performing live concerts and DJ sets throughout the U.K. and Europe, sharing stages with Demdike Stare, Elysia Crampton, Heatsick, and others. Her first 12" single, Face A/B, appeared on Where to Now? in 2015, and Studies I-XVII for Samplers and Percussion (another collaboration with Clervaux) appeared the same year to critical acclaim. In 2016, Dillon shared a mixtape with Ben UFO (issued by Dutch label Wichelroede), Dillon and Clervaux's Two Changes was issued by Paralaxe Editions, and a split 12" single by Dillon and Gwyer appeared on Alien Jams.
