Gran ritorno per gli Snow Patrol. I britannici hanno semplicemente lasciato passare un po’ di tempo: quattro anni dal loro Greatest Hits, che già suonava come un bilancio, sette da Fallen Empires. Giusto il tempo, per i compagni del cantante irlandese Gary Lightbody, di ricondurlo dalla sua profonda depressione alla scrittura, quindi all’incisione di Wildness in quel di Los Angeles. Colui che scrive per Taylor Swift e Harry Styles dei One Direction e i cui brani finiscono nelle sigle delle serie più seguite del pianeta ‒ Grey's Anatomy in primis ‒ ha messo in questo settimo opus gli ingredienti necessari a qualunque album destinato al grande pubblico: vibrati, chitarre sdolcinate, testi esistenzialisti-espiatori (Life And Death, Life On Earth, Don't Give In).
