Riddler

As the Riddler or DJ Riddler, Filipino-American Richard Pangilinan has released over a dozen dance mix compilation CDs, hosted several popular radio shows, and remixed or produced songs by countless pop stars. Born in Chicago, Pangilinan moved to Texas as a youth and began DJing in 1987. Before long he became a Billboard club reporter and DJed at many of the state's top radio stations for dance music: 104 KRBE in Houston, 98.7 KHFI in Austin, and 102 KTFM in San Antonio. In November 1995, he moved to New York and began working for Tommy Boy. He helped fellow Filipino-American Jocelyn Enriquez obtain a contact with the label, and was partly responsible for the platinum-selling Jock Jams compilations, as well as "The Jock Jam" mashup mega-mix, which became a surprise radio hit in 1997. Pangilinan began to DJ on New York radio stations as well, beginning with Z100 WHTZ and eventually WKTU, where he hosted the city's top mix show. During the early 2000s, he mixed CDs of the latest and most popular club hits for Strictly Hype (Club Series) and Tommy Boy (Dance Mix NYC), furthering his reputation among the dance community. He won several awards for his radio shows, including Best Radio Mixshow at the International Dance Music Awards during the Winter Music Conference, held annually in Miami, Florida. In 2003, his show Riddler Remixed premiered on Sirius Satellite Radio. By 2004, the Riddler's Dance Mix NYC series was up to its fifth volume. During the same year, Pangilinan co-founded MYNT, a C+C Music Factory-inspired dance-pop group featuring singers Kim Sozzi and Marisol Angelique Solorzano as well as co-producers Albert Castillo and Joe Murena. The debut single "How Did You Know" appeared in 2004 and reached the Billboard Top 100 singles chart. Following a few more singles, the full-length Still Not Sorry arrived on Ultra Records in 2005. By this point, the Riddler had begun releasing mix CDs on Ultra, and volumes of Ultra Dance, Ultra Trance, and Club Anthems appeared throughout the rest of the decade. In 2008, he moved back to Houston and began DJ'ing on Hot 95.7 FM KKHH. He continued hosting mix shows on Sirius-XM until 2012, when he began DJ'ing on Clear Channel HD2's Club Phusion station. That same year, he released the mix CD Dance Mix USA: In the Club, Vol. 2 (on Phase One) as well as the Enigma EP (on Soltrenz). He continued winning awards at the Winter Music Conference as well as the Promo Only Summer Sessions/DJ Times Convention in Atlantic City, New Jersey. In 2017, he began working at 92.1 Radio Now KROI, hosting an afternoon drive-time program and serving as music director.
