Il profeta è tornato! Autore di grandi successi come Gloria e Brown Eyed Girl, Van Morrison fa un salto indietro nel tempo con il suo nuovo album The Prophet Speaks. Il bardo irlandese si cimenta nella tradizione jazz, blues e R’n’B, con brani di John Lee Hooker, Sam Cooke, Willie Dixon e Solomon Burke. Ed ecco che Van “The Man” fa suoi questi brani con un talento che pochi hanno e, di passaggio, ci mette anche del suo con sei nuovi brani (Got to Go Where The Love Is, 5 am Greenwich Mean Time, Love Is Hard Work, Spirit Will Provide, Ain’t Gonna Moan No More e The Prophet Speaks) anch'essi con spennellate di jazz, soul e R’n’B. “È stato importante per me ritornare in studio con nuova musica, anche riprendendo quei blues che mi hanno ispirato dal principio della mia carriera”, ha detto Van Morrison, parlando di questo nuovo album. Ancora una volta, l’organista virtuoso Joey DeFrancesco (già coautore di You're Driving Me Crazy) è della partita con il chitarrista Dan Wilson, il batterista Michael Ode e il sassofonista Troy Roberts.
