Appena un anno dopo l'uscita del primo album dei Roxy Music, Bryan Ferry ha pubblicato il suo primo disco da solista. Una pletora di materiale che ha permesso al dandy britannico di soddisfare la sua passione per la performance pura e semplice. In These Foolish Things (1973), il leader dei Roxy Music reinterpreta Bob Dylan, i Beatles, i Rolling Stones, i Beach Boys, i Four Tops e Elvis, mentre Another Time, Another Place (1974) lo vede nuovamente alle prese con Dylan, ma anche con Sam Cooke, Ike Turner, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, Joe South e con qualche perla di alcune girl band degli anni Sessanta. Inedita fino ad oggi, questa registrazione dal vivo alla Royal Albert Hall di Londra del dicembre 1974 è costituita sostanzialmente da questi due album solisti. L'ironia, i contrasti e l'esuberanza della filosofia glam emergono in ogni secondo di questo grandioso e plateale concerto, che vede tre membri dei Roxy Music unirsi a lui sul palco: il chitarrista Phil Manzanera (il folle!), il batterista Paul Thompson e il bassista John Porter. Con una giacca da smoking, pantaloni a zampa d'elefante e capelli lunghi, Bryan Ferry ci regala una performance grandiosa che se ne infischia delle tradizioni, immortalata in questo album decadente fino al midollo.
