Il White Album, genesi di un mito

L’unico doppio album dei Beatles, soprannominato comunemente “The White Album”, festeggia il cinquantesimo compleanno ed esce in una nuova versione, più completa, che comprende parecchi inediti. Uno sguardo sulla complessa concezione di un disco altrettanto complesso.

Alice Cooper non scansa il pericolo

Il percorso di Alice Cooper è, innanzitutto, un caso eccezionale di sdoppiamento della personalità. Come ne “Lo strano caso del dottor Jekyll e del signor Hyde”, il cantante Vincent Furnier si è abbandonato al predominio dello showman Alice Cooper. Ma, come lui stesso ha ammesso, colui che parla sempre di Alice alla terza persone durante le sue interviste rimane un uomo piuttosto semplice e normale nel privato, lontano da quella scena in cui ha moltiplicato eccessi e provocazioni. Nel corso dei suoi cinquantaquattro anni di carriera, è inoltre possibile rilevare una certa schizofrenia nei suoi numerosi cambiamenti di stile. Anche se gli viene attribuita l’invenzione del shock rock, si è dilettato con tutto, o quasi, con più o meno successo, dal pop agli inizi dell’hard-rock, passando per l’heavy metal, la new wave o la musica industriale…

Trentaquattro anni fa nascevano i Nirvana: la deriva punk più inattesa del XX secolo. Una carriera stellare, hit internazionali, orde di fan ed un tragico epilogo per questo fenomeno mondiale. E se la band di Kurt Cobain fosse l’ultima nella storia del rock? Un fenomeno capace di unire una generazione, forse l'ultimo mito del suo genere.
