We met the jazzman upon the release of his new album, ‘The Imagined Savior is Far Easier to Paint’, released by Blue Note Records

After a mere three albums, Ambrose Akinmusire has established himself as one of the most important jazz artists of his generation. Now also a producer, the multi-talented composer and trumpet player returns with this new album, ‘The Imagined Savior is Far Easier to Paint’, that boasts collaborations with guitarist Charles Altura of the OSSO String Quartet, and vocals from Becca Stevens, Theo Bleckmann and Cold Specks. It’s a record that has lived up to expectations that were carried over from his first album for Blue Note, ‘When The Heart Emerges Glistenin’’.
