The evanescent lady of the moment brings yet another soulful music experience to our ears...

Following the unbelievable success of previous album effort Born To Die, Lana Del Rey has her heart set on proving to the music world that her special talent was indeed one made to last - not simply a flash in the pan. Ultraviolence is the latest addition to an increasingly impressive musical repertoire, not to mention that the New York native epitomizes the smouldering attraction of the 1950s pin-up girl alongside her undeniable talent for song. The expectations of fans were arguably at an all time high and the result is a pretty fascinating disc produced by Dan Auerbach, responsible for previously impressive production work with the Black Keys. As always, we find cinematic atmospheres, a tangible melancholic feel throughout with the special attention to guitar detail. Another triumph for the lady of the moment.
