The Dubliner is putting Irish Hip-Hop on the map...

Between a bustling grime seen and the broad range of MCs like Loyle Carner or Kate Tempest, rap and its associated genres in the UK and Ireland have taken on an impressive richness. The case of Alex Anyaegbunam alias Rejjie Snow adds another page to the file. With Dear Annie, his first official album, this young Dubliner, born to an Irish-Jamaican mother and a Nigerian father and raised in Dublin city, has made a stunning début. Stunning, but gentle.

With his velvet flow part-way between end-of-the-night chill and murmured soul (Tyler The Creator on Lexomil?), Rejjie Snow has served up an album with a vintage flavour for which he has brought on board virtuosos like Cameron Osteen alias Cam O’bi (producer for Chance The Rapper, Vic Mensa and SZA), the Canadian electronic tinkerer Kaytranada, rapper Aminé, California's Dana Williams and the singer Jesse Boykins III.
