Aida Sock
Aida Sock's elegant, sophisticated sound draws from classic soul, R&B, African pop, and hip-hop, among other influences. After competing in the inaugural season of The Voice Afrique Francophone in 2016, she released her full-length debut, SAHH (Soulful Afro Hip Hop), in 2019.
Born to Senegalese parents in French-speaking Niamey, Niger, and raised mostly in Wolof-speaking Senegal, Ndèye Aida Sock picked up Spanish while living in Miami, Florida, for college. She sings in all of these languages as well as English. Sock decided to pursue music as a vocation after qualifying for the first season of The Voice Afrique Francophone, where she performed songs by artists including Erykah Badu before her elimination. Her first release, "With You (Sama Xol)," appeared in 2017. She followed up with songs including "Kiding Kiding," a collaboration with Admow, and was featured on Nix's "Boul Falé" before presenting her debut album, SAHH (Soulful Afro Hip Hop), in 2019. Sock returned the following year with tracks including "Bop Sa Bopp," and "Dem" featuring Mamy Victory and Lil Maro.
