Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs

Also known as "Pigs x7," Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs is a British band heralded for its hard-hitting mix of stoner metal, doom metal, psych rock, and experimental noise rock. The group was formed in 2012 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. Co-founders Matthew Baty (vocals), Sam Grant (guitar), Adam Ian Sykes (lead guitar), John-Michael Joseph Hedley (bass), and Ewan Mackenzie (drums) made their recorded debut with the self-titled track "Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs" in 2012, followed by the debut EP Psychopomp two years later. While these early releases found the band favoring lengthy songs that made room for extended instrumental passages, Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs had already begun trending toward more succinct songwriting by the time the group's first full-length album, Feed the Rats, was released in 2017. The sophomore album King of Cowards was released in 2018 and received universal acclaim, as did the band's third album, Viscerals, in 2020. Both records also featured an experimental bent, showcasing Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs' willingness to nod to the band's metal influences while also reaching beyond their influence. This process continued with the group's fourth LP, Land of Sleeper, which also found drummer Ewan Mackenzie returning to the lineup after a five-year hiatus.
