The Spencer Davis Group released a trio of brilliant singles in the late '60s -- "Gimme Some Lovin'," "Keep On Runnin'," and "Somebody Help Me" -- all driven by the amazingly soulful voice of Steve Winwood. Unfortunately, Winwood doesn't sing on this brief collection of the band's hits (he left the band to form Traffic in 1967). Winwood's voice is not easily approximated, and these re-recordings can't hold a candle to the originals.

Diabolus in Musica: 50 Years of Black Sabbath

In the autumn of 1969, four young lads from Birmingham crammed themselves into a studio in London for what looked like their last chance at making a career in music. They had 24 hours to record and to change their lives forever. They left the studio with “Black Sabbath” an eponymous debut album from the band led by Ozzy Osbourne and guitarist Tommy Iommi that would turn a whole generation onto heavy metal. Let's look back on this sonic revolution.

10 Legends of the Blues

For over a century, blues is still nourishing pop music of all kinds and producing great records. It's time to take a look back at the classics with ten historic blues musicians.

40 Years of Post-punk in 10 Albums
