Michael McLean

Incredibly prolific and talented, songwriter Michael McLean developed a strong following in the Latter-day Saint community. His Christmas album The Forgotten Carols continues to be a best-seller for him, and his live concerts of the work continue to be sold out as well. Such popularity had a very humble beginning, however. He began not as a composer but as a producer of the HomeFront ad campaign for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His dreams were in music, and as he fondly relates in the If Only You Believe video, his wife Lynn reminded him often to be persistent. It paid off. As of 1999, he had released 20 albums, had produced several videos for the church and won numerous awards. In addition to skills as a producer and composer, McLean is an accomplished pianist and is particularly gifted in the area of storytelling. Album producer Kenny Hodges notes that McLean is talented when it comes to touching emotions. This is especially evident on his 1999 release Safe Harbors. The combined sales of all his albums exceed Platinum status. He makes his home with wife Lynn and three children in Heber, Utah.
