Diego & Victor Hugo

The Sertanejo music genre has been around in Brazil since the 1920s, but it has recently seen a resurgence of popularity thanks in part to acts such as Diego & Victor Hugo. The duo, composed of Diego Kistenmacher Barros de Alencar and Elías Anderson de Brito, has been making a name for itself for the last several years. Diego & Victor Hugo started working together in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais. After participating in a Sertanejo music festival in 2011, the group started to draw attention from local audiences. They also started developing a reputation as songwriters, scoring hits by writing songs for other artists, such as Cristiano Araújo, Henrique & Juliano, and Matheus & Kauan. This would translate to gaining attention as performers, releasing their debut self-titled album in 2014, as well as the follow-up No Seu Mundo in 2016. The year 2017 saw the release of their first live DVD, titled Sem Contraindicação, which included many unreleased songs as well as classics from their songbook. Over the next several years, the group continued releasing EPs such as Querosene e o Violão and DVDs such as Diego e Victor Hugo - Ao Vivo Em Brasília, which found tremendous success all over Brazil. 2021 saw the release of Equilíbrio (Ao Vivo), which contains live performances including the single "Sorte (Ao Vivo)".
