Bru-C

Equally likely to burst into a heavy-hitting freestyle or spit some rhymes over a frantic drum and bass beat, Nottingham-based MC and entrepreneur Bru-C has slowly but surely become one of the leading exponents of the burgeoning UK rap scene. Born on June 28, 1991, in Long Eaton, Derbyshire, he got his start in battle rap but later on, his ambitions of making it as a successful performer in the music industry led him to create a highly idiosyncratic patchwork of different genres, including drum & bass, grime, bassline, and garage. Original Sounds, his studio debut, hit retail in 2019 via CruCast. This was followed by a second LP titled Smile (2020), a seamless amalgamation of UK urban music that carried a message of positiveness and self-affirmation. The success of the album allowed Bru-C to raise his profile and eventually secure a deal with Def Jam Recordings. His first batch of singles for the internationally renowned hip-hop label included “Paradise” (2022) with Wilkinson and “No Excuses,” which earned him his first charting hit by climbing to Number 28 in the United Kingdom.
