About

The minimalist hip-hop gets personal on Furthermore's sophomore effort, She and I. Lee and Fischer construct a witty, funky mix about love and the many colors of the passion scheme. Fischer's clever wordplay is comical while Lee's angelic vocals separate themselves from the chaotic fray of slick breakbeats. "Thanks for Nothing" and "Going Somewhere Fast" hit upon darker moments of romance, whereas "Deliriously Cold" spoofs Fischer's supposed aversion to commitment. In the past, Furthermore has been tagged as a Christian act; however, the dynamic of She and I isn't exclusively aiming in that direction. It's conscious of a higher power, but without an abrasive approach. Lyrically, Furthermore's questions are intelligent. Setting it all to music, the duo's own kind of quirky cool electronic sound is sort of fun. ~ MacKenzie Wilson
