Mendrugo

Mendrugo is a collaborative project from American indie folk artist Josephine Foster, her husband, Spanish guitarist Victor Herrero, and Victor's brother José Luis. The group first surfaced on a 2013 compilation called Your Victorian Breasts from experimental Swiss indie Three:Four Records. Over the next few years, Foster and the Herrero brothers remained focused on various other projects before reviving Mendrugo again in 2016. Their unique free-form style is highly influenced by rustic Latin folk styles and also features contributions from Japanese woodwind artist Taku and Spanish folk musician Lorena Alvarez. Their debut album, More Amor, was released in the summer of 2016 by U.K. label Fire Records.
